New York Scholarship Application

If you are a current resident of New York, and you have experienced a traumatic brain injury, you are eligible to apply to the 2020 Ricigliano & Filopei Scholarship for TBI Survivors. The scholarship is open to current college students, as well as prospective students. If you attend college outside of New York, you are still eligible to apply as long as you maintain a permanent residence in New York. About the scholarship

The personal injury attorneys of Ricigliano & Filopei, P.C. are pleased to offer a $1500 scholarship to New Jersey and New York residents who have survived a traumatic brain injury and are pursuing a college education. Applicants must share how their traumatic brain injury has affected them in either an essay of no more than 1000 words, or in a video no longer than 6 minutes. We encourage applicants to share their story creatively. One winner will be chosen from each state.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the scholarship you must be able to provide the following information:

  1. Proof of New York residency. If you are a resident of New Jersey, please apply here
  2. Proof of acceptance to an accredited college or university (or a list of colleges / universities that you are applying to)
  3. Proof of enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year (only required if selected as the top New York applicant)
  4. Documentation of your traumatic brain injury (only required if selected as the top New York applicant)
  5. A brief description of your injury
  6. A written essay of no more than 1000 words, or video submission of no more than 6 minutes answering the prompt “how has your traumatic brain injury impacted you?”

Important dates

We will be accepting submissions from October 15th 2020 through February 15th 2021 at 11:59 PM.

A winner from New York and New Jersey will be selected and contacted in February 2021. The winners will be officially announced to the public on March 1, 2021.
