Alyx Lewis was born and raised in New York. Inspired by her grandfather and father’s work as personal injury attorneys, Ms. Lewis pursued a legal education with the goal of helping others. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University at Buffalo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Certificate in Journalism. Ms. Lewis attended the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, while simultaneously working at a personal injury/medical malpractice practice and a criminal/family law firm.
During her final year of law school, Ms. Lewis was proud to work as a student representative in the Asylum Clinic, successfully advocating for applicants in immigration proceedings before asylum officers, immigration judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals. Clients of the asylum clinic typically fled their countries because of torture or persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. Among the many clients Ms. Lewis represented included a transgender woman who fled Honduras due to violent, transphobic persecution. As a result of Ms. Lewis’ efforts, the woman ultimately obtained her legal citizenship status in the United States.
Ms. Lewis is skilled in forming personal connections through empathy and understanding along with an unwavering drive to succeed and represents her clients with zealous advocacy. She takes pride in her career as a third-generation personal injury attorney and looks forward to serving the firm’s clients in both New York and New Jersey.
